Two big events this past week: Frankie started a new school and the Easter Bunny came.
While Frankie's old school wasn't displeasing, it wasn't structured enough to prepare him for elementary school. It's a strange thing to feel like your kid is already "behind" when they are four and a half, but since I am at work all day, I needed someone to be more proactive with teaching him, not merely watching him. The new school looks like an actual school and is run more like one...his teacher isn't a babysitter and seems very enthusiastic about preparing the kids for what they are going to come across in elementary school. So far, so good. Frankie has been more excited than he's been in a year to actually go to school in the morning - there's certainly been less "lag" this week.
Easter is one of Frankie's favorite holidays - he's had a bunny obsession since birth it seems...much of that attributable to Sleepy Bunny's influence. Oh, and the fact that he loves candy. And in particular, come to find out, peanut butter cups. He likes to tease me since I don't like the "goo" inside a Cadbury Egg. We collected two baskets full of eggs from the yard. It was overcast, but it never rained on us. It was a day of candy, much like Halloween...we have so much chocolate, I'm not really sure we'll ever finish eating it. I'll likely pawn it off on my work folk...they'll eat anything and I'd rather they get fat than us.
